Do you feel like you are in imminent danger?

There are a number of things you may be able to do:

  • If you are able to, get out of the situation now.

  • Call emergency services. Keep in mind that different countries may have different numbers. In Europe generally it is 112, in the US, it is 911. For a list of numbers in other countries, you can visit: INTERNATIONAL EMERGENCY NUMBERS

  • If it is safe to do so, call some one you trust and ask them to help you.

  • You may be able to alert friends, family or neighbours, that you are in trouble and need help.

  • If you can, run to a public place such as an institution, hospital, library, post office, etc.

  • If you are trapped, there may be some places that you can avoid, such as the kitchen or garage where there may be potential weapons. You may also be able to avoid rooms without windows or small areas that you could be trapped in, such as wardrobes.
